My brooches are translations of where I live, what I see, and how I experience it. Living in a bustling city, I discover a collection of compositions among the many buildings, traffic, and construction sites. I see surfaces, lines, shapes, volumes, patterns, overlaps, voids, structures, colors, and movements. These are constantly changing. Transience, what was yesterday is no longer today.

The photos I take are snapshots; they support the designs for my jewelry. Because soon after, a new space or emptiness emerges. It gives the city a certain rhythm. I want to capture this experience in my jewelry. All brooches, a limitation I impose on myself.

Everything starts with an idea in my head, which is then fleshed out during the creative process at my workbench, my absolute favorite spot. Creating is like playing. Building, tearing down, building again or continuing until the composition is perfect.

In this way, small new worlds are constantly being created.
